Veluwe and IJssel

The Veluwe is the Netherlands largest nature reserve. We start north of Arnhem in Rozendaal. Here we climb up to the Veluwe near the Rozendaal Castle. It is a pleasant and stead climb up. As the Veluwe is a hill ridge, you will reach the plateau after some kilometers. From here the route continues on the Rozendaalse veld. After doing a loop around it, we head into the Veluwezoom area, descending down to the river IJssel - the northern most branch of the Rhine. A vary different landscape in the overflow area of the river brings you to the old trading city of Doesburg, before continuing onto Dieren where this ride ends.
