Carron Valley
Whilst I cycle a lot around the roads of the Carron Valley it's not often that I get to traverse this particular route - I usually cover the roads to the East of the valley. This ride follows on from the video up the Crow Road hill climb from Lennoxtown, over the Campsie Fells and rides West to East along the valley initially through the Campsie Fells and then latterly alongside the Carron Reservoir and the river Carron. The scenery is stunning and it's not often that I get to enjoy it in sunny weather - more often than not it's misty, foggy or raining! Most of the ride is on the flat with just a couple of short inclines of 10% and 8%.
The wildlife in the Carron Valley is usually plentiful - particularly birds but on this ride, I didn't experience much. In the past, I have seen buzzard and osprey circling above me.
