Munich Riemer Park

Sightseeing with an easy ride from Munich's eastern suburb Feldkirchen to the ground where Munich's former airport Riem was once located:
Flughafen Riem was Munich's International Airport until May 16th, 1992.

The area has been converted into Riemer park, Messestadt Riem - a residential and business quarter -, and the new exhibition center "International Congress Center Munich".

Some relics of the Riemer Airport have been preserved, namely in order of appearance in the ride: a strip of tarmac, the former visitor terrace - derelict and therefore fenced -, and the tower.
As we enter Riemer Park, we ride up a knoll overlooking Munich which was piled up from rubble of the demolished airport.

The video was taken on a bank holiday on a sunny but not especially warm day end of May, so the commercial center "Riem Arkaden" is closed
while there is some recreational activity in the park and around the lake.
