Franconia Notch, NH - Lonesome Lake Loop

Lonesome Lake Trail is a 3.1 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Lincoln, New Hampshire that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, walking, camping, and snowshoeing and is best used from May until October.

The trail typically starts with a steep climb up a rocky trail to get to the lake but this video foregoes that to just allow you to loop around the lake itself.    A full trail version of the hike with the ascent/descent will be added for those that want to travel the entire route.

So this video is just around the ice covered lake.

During the summer months, you can stay overnight at the Lonesome Lake Hut where you can reserve a room and have a nice family meal.   This was done in late November and the trail was virtually empty of others with some of the first snow of winter on the ground and the lake froze over.   

Video recorded at a  walking pace (but looks OK  at speed of a runner 6 - 8 mph).   It was slippery and walking on boards to get around so not as smooth as usual.
