The Vilstalradweg begins at the train station in Dorfen and follows the former railroad line via Eibach, Schaupping and Taufkirchen to Velden. From Taufkirchen the cycle path follows the course of the Vils. In Vilsbiburg it meets the Isar-Vils and the Vils-Rott cycle path. Via Reisbach and Aldersbach the Vils Valley Cycle Path leads to Vilshofen. There it is connected to the Danube cycle path and the Ohetal cycle path. The cycle path runs partly on cycle paths, mainly on little used side roads without major inclines.
