The climb starts immediately and you will go steadily up, mainly in the forest, about 700 m in 12.5 kms where you reach the Col de Berentin at 1144 m. After the col the route continues rather flat for another 5 kms with snow next to the road and open views. This col brings you up to the Plateau de Retord, well known for cross-country skiing and biathlon. Enjoy!!
