The full hike up and around Lonesome lake visiting the the Appalachian Mountain Club's hut at the lake. This is a steep climb up slippery granite boulders and is probably more suited to hiking that running. With a bit of respite on the flat boardwalk sections around the lake before descending back to the starting point.
The fact that its a steep, slippery climb means there are sections that are not as smooth as I would ideally like but the journey is certainly worth it. This is certainly a hike experience more than a run experience.
