Unity is one of the largest regeneration and infrastructure projects in the UK that will see a new town built with over 3000 new homes and generating over 7000 new jobs.
It is located next to Hatfield Main Colliery which was one of the last three deep coal mines in the UK and closed in 2015. The headstocks are iconic of the coal mining industry and these ones at Hatfield Main Colliery have been given Grade II listed status by Historic England so the project will be built around them reminding generations to come of the significance of the coal industry in the past.
