Starting at Milford Sound, you will catch a glimpse of Mitre Peak before heading up to the Milford Tunnel. This is a single lane tunnel just over a kilometre long.
Then you pop out into the Hollyford Valley with towering 1000 foot vertical walls on either side.
After travelling through native beech forests you follow the Eglington River down to Lake Te Anau, passing Lake Gunn on the way.
