Loop Kirchheim through Ismaning

Sunday in spring, an easy loop ride from Kirchheim to Ismaning in flat terrain, in the eastern suburbia of Munich, Germany.

Towards the end, an old man on a bicycle signals me to stop and then points out a stork on my left.

This is the first time in fifteen years I have seen a stork here. Mostly, we have great white egrets nowadays, although they are not a native species around here.

The old man then goes on to ask me about my dog, Akizhuzhu, who is enjoying being towed in his dog trailer since his furry coat means it is too warm for him to stroll around on such a sunny, warm day.

People here are always fascinated by the Akita breed, mostly commenting that "the dog has such a nice face", and the old man then even recalls the movie Hachiko.

I took a picture of Aki in the dog trailer, but I don't know where to put it up, so maybe you just imagine your own dog.

Now you know why the break is a bit longer than just a few seconds.

Don't be disappointed, but you won't see much neither of the old man, nor anything of the stork.

Instead, you will have to make do with a "still image" for two minutes, most practical for a short break.
