Sa Pobla to Pollenca
I had a short holiday in the Northern part of Mallorca at the end of September 2021. I've always wanted to try cycling there but despite many previous holidays in the area I've never managed to find the time to do so. However, this time I found I was staying just around the corner from a bike hire shop so arranged a few short rides in the middle of my holiday. This is the first of three pre-planned routes and this one is split into three videos.
- The circular route starts in the lovely old town of Pollença where I was staying and heads initially to the coastal town of Puerto Pollença, before heading along the shoreline to Alcudia and then takes a short detour that was recommended to me by the bike shop owner for the scenery - and he was certainly right. The views across the bay to Alcudia, Puerto Pollença, and Formentor are stunning.
- Part two takes you back from la Victora to the old town of Alcudia
- Part three then starts from Alcudia old town and then heads along the coast past the more touristy end of Alcudia following the bay with its sandy beaches (although we never see them) and then into Can Picafort before turning inland to the agricultural town of Sa Pobla. I had to cut the video into a third part because I had a puncture - which I discovered changing in 30-degree heat with no shade is no fun!
- This video, the final part, is from Sa Pobla back to Pollensa along mostly main roads. The old town of Pollenca is gorgeous with lovely buildings and narrow streets.
The complete route can be found in the following videos.
- Pollenca to la Victoria
- la Victoria to Alcudia
- Alcudia to Sa Pobla
- Sa Pobla to Pollenca (this video)
If you've done the downhill la Victoria to Alcudia ride you might want to consider doing the same ride uphill here.
