Enjoy the ride on an early spring day with a grey sky and temperature low enough to require lots of cold weather clothing. The wind was picking up as we rode. The ride begins at Edworthy, a park by the river and we head up through the Foothills Hospital. We cut through the city and the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology, then around a promenade where you get a view of the city. The round building on the left of the city is a Norman Foster building that the city wanted to be lower than the original design (it looks lopped off to me). We then drop down, cross a major highway, and pass a sports arena. Eventually we head along the old irrigation canal. In Victorian times people used to spend weekends rowing boats along it.
