Shortish ride across peat bog and forest landscapes. Half tarmac and half gravel. The peat bog, Whim Bog, is a Site of Special Scientific Interest(SSSI)
but the extended area Whim Moss still has some peat extraction activity. After riding across there (on tarmac) you then go off onto gravel that takes you through part of Harehope Forest and on towards Portmore Estate.
