The ruin of the medieval castle Eppenstein was built around 1000 AD and lost importance around 1500, passing many hands in between and slowly decaying afterwards. A local group of people from the nearby village is trying to preserve it for already sixty years.
Join me on a loop walk which starts in the valley, passes through the village Eppenstein, goes uphill to the castle ruin, explores the castle and returns to the valley from the other side. If you are only interested in castle, then another, shorter video "Eppenstein 🚶 Castle" is for you.
