From Tinguatón you cycle across “Fake” Fire Mountains to the spine road. With the wind behind you this can be a fast section of the ride. The turn right and head north. You will pass Monumento del Campesino which sits in the centre of the Island and then climb up to the old capital of Teguise.

If it wasn’t a race, then you could stop for a coffee and a cake in one of the many cafes.
