Bavarian Tour - Amper-Altmühl Radweg (Allershausen-->Dollnstein) Part II/IV ☀️

The Amper-Altmuehl Cycle Path touches the largest closed hop-growing area in the world, the Hallertau, and leads along low-traffic roads and field paths as well as road-accompanying cycle paths through the Schrobenhausen asparagus country and the former Neuburg Palatinate into the Altmühltal Nature Park. In the process, charming river landscapes are passed: From the Ampertal near Allershausen via the Ilmtal in the district of Pfaffenhofen a.d.Ilm and the Paartal near Schrobenhausen, the route leads directly into the Danube floodplain landscape near Neuburg a.d.Donau, before the route reaches the Altmühltal near Dollnstein via the Danube cycle path and the Wellheimer Trockental near Rennertshofen. With the changing river landscapes, different types of landscape can also be experienced: The tertiary hill chains of the foothills of the Alps in the area of Freising, Pfaffenhofen a.d. Ilm and Schrobenhausen are replaced in the course of the journey to the north by the largest low moorland area in southern Germany, the Donaumoos, before the journey continues via the ecologically extremely important riparian forest complex near Neuburg a.d.Donau on the Danube cycle path and the Urdonautalradweg to the first foothills of the karstified heights of the Swabian-Franconian Jura into the Altmühltal Nature Park. The cycle path is mainly asphalted and has very good supply possibilities
